Air Berlin

The airline airberlin had been the second-largest carrier in Germany after Lufthansa, until it went bankrupt at the end of 2017. It was established in 1978 in the United States under the name Air Berlin Inc. It was a period when only airplanes of allied countries could land in West Berlin. On the first flight, the carrier's plane set off on 29 April 1979 on the Berlin Tegel – Palma de Majorca route. The airline was flying in all directions of the world. In December 2011, airberlin and Etihad Airways established a strategic partnership, and from spring 2012, airberlin had been a member of the global One World airline alliance.

At many German and international airports, comfortable lounges awaited passengers, and on flights to / from or through Abu Dhabi, travellers can enjoy free luxury chauffeur transport. The advantage of traveling in a business class was the ability to drop two pieces of luggage up to 32 kg each, which were marked as Priority Label, which gives them priority of delivery. Passengers in this class could also take a second piece of hand luggage weighing up to 8 kg on board for free.

Online check-in

Additional services

On mid-range routes in the on-board store you could buy snacks and drinks, brand perfumes, jewellery, toys for children and accessories. Magazines and newspaper were available on journeys in Germany. Passengers with reduced mobility could benefit from special assistance, but it had to be notified no later than 48 hours before the departure.
