Adria Airways

Slovenian national airline Adria Airways have been present on the market since 1961. Originally, the carrier was called Inex-Adria Airways. The first flight took place with Dutch crew on board after purchasing two DC-6B planes from KLM. In 1967 the company suffered from a various crisis, which ended up with the bankruptcy proceedings in 1968. However, the bankruptcy did not happen. In 1970, the carrier’s fleet was renewed, the first jet plane McDonnell Douglas DC-9-30 and four DC-6 were bought.

Since 1996 Adria Airways has been a partner of the German Lufthansa, and since 2004 it belongs to Star Alliance. From spring 2014, the carrier’s planes land at Polish airports. 

Luggage

In Adria Airways you can carry hand luggage on board. Its dimensions and weight are given by the airline and may vary depending on the reservation class or route. Reservation class

Economy Class offers standard comfort. Traveling in the Business Class is convenient, its passengers may visit kiosks at the airports and get free snacks, drinks, and newspapers on board. In the Business First Class passenger may have more privacy, more comfort, and a meal – breakfast, dinner or supper. On a special order made up to 48 hours prior to flight, the airline may serve the previously ordered meal. Here the price is also the most flexible.

Fleet

The fleet of the Slovenian airline has in total 10 aircraft: Airbus A319, Canadair Regional Jet CRJ900, and Canadian Regional Jet CRJ 200 LR. What is more, Adria rents Canadair Regional Jet CRJ 200, Canadair Regional Jet CRJ 100 and Boeing 737-500.

Lublana airport

Lublana international airport named after Jožet Pučnik is located 26 kilometres north of the capital city of Slovenia. It is the biggest airport in the country. At the airport, there are cafes, restaurants, bars, various shops including those duty-free ones, and car rental. 

Meals

SkyShop is open on board in Adria Airways planes. There you can buy some snacks, sweets and cold, hot and alcoholic drinks. For Business Class passengers the meal is included in the price of the ticket, depending on the time of the day it may be breakfast, lunch or dinner.
