What Porto Seguro is famous for, though, is perfect weather and delightful beaches with white, velvet sand. 
Praia do Espelho Curuípe is considered one of the most beautiful seaside location in the whole Brazil. Staying there, make sure to look after sloths that would definitely be napping somewhere in the shadow of coconut trees. Lovers of nature definitely will like preserved area of Mata Atlântica, tropical jungle with marshy areas, rocky slopes and abundant exotic plants.

Traditional dishes of region Bahia are acarajé (fried on deep fat balls from bean pie), moqueca (stew from fishes and seafood with coconut milk) vatapá (purée from crayfish, fish, cashews, nuts, coconut milk) caruru (dish based on shrimps and okra), xinxim de galinha (stewed chicken sticks with shrimps and nuts) and bobó de camarão (cream from manioc with shrimps and coconut milk). It is worth to try them, among others, in  Boiteko, eatery d'Oliveira or Rosa dos Ventos.
