Tralee is a city located in the south-west of Ireland, in County Kerry. It is located on the Dingle peninsula, which is the westernmost point of the country. The most popular element of the city's culture is Rose of Tralee International Festival, which has been held for nearly sixty years.
The Rose Tralee Festival takes place annually in August. During the celebrations, a young girl of Irish descent is chosen who receives the title rose. She becomes a kind of ambassador of the city and region, and should be characterized by aspirations, ambition and social responsibility. In addition to the election, there are many events in the city, concerts, parades, fairs and fireworks shows.
If you are a fan of these flowers, you will certainly be interested in the fact that they play a significant role not only at the time of the festival. In Tralee, there is a city park, where not only the mentioned event takes place, but in which there was established a rose garden with more than five thousand types of roses. It is worth visiting it especially at the time of their flowering, when it looks the most beautiful.
