The city’s centre is situated on the right bank of the Danube, whereas on its second bank there are not largely inhabited suburbs. One of the most modern district of the city is the New Belgrad, created in the 50’s and still buoyantly developing.
It will be a great option for you, if you don’t imagine a weekend without a party. By riverbanks of Sava and Danube you will find many clubs and bars, vibrant all night long. Among them you can visit for instance club Tilt at boulevard Vojvode Bojovica 30, another spot where you can dance the night away is club Bank at Karadjordjeva 2-4. In bar Shake 'n’ Shake you can sip a drink while sitting comfortably on a sunbed.
In the middle of the city you will also find beaches! Ada Ciganlija is a peninsula and artificially created water tank. It is one of the most popular place in the neighbourhood. You will find there beaches, pitches, golf courts, you can rent water skis or canoes. Around the water tank there are many cafes, bars and clubs, that never sleeps in the summertime, offering gigs or beach parties.
Do you want to feel the vibe of Belgrad bohemianism? Step by Skadarlija street, where once poets used to meet to discuss. It is also a place, where many painters created their best works. Today the street is still full of life, thanks to artists that hang out there and plenty of cafes, souvenirs shops. A boulevard that also deserves your attention is Knez Mihailova, delineated in place where the main trading route of the city used to be in time when Romans were ruling it.
