Lugano
Lugano is the largest city in south-eastern Switzerland, in the canton of Ticino. It lies on the lake of the same name, surrounded by mountain massifs such as Monte Brè and Monte San Salvatore. This Italian-speaking city, known for its beautiful landscapes and mild climate, attracts tourists and is an important banking centre. It is best visited in spring or summer, when temperatures are pleasant. Lugano also offers numerous cultural and educational attractions and is an important hub for the Italian-speaking community.
