The bridge is connecting a square, on which there is an evangelical cathedral, with the Small Square. It was the first iron bridge in the city, and legends claim it will collapse once someone standing on it, says a lie.
Sibiu was located on the 8th place in ranking of the best cities to live in Europe made by Forbes magazine. It was also the European Capital of Culture in 2007.
In the neighbourhood there is a very curvy Transfogarian Route. It goes through main peak of the Fagaras Mountains, through tunnel that leads to their other side. In its highest point it is located at altitude of 2000 metres.
Sibiu – Sybin – is the historic city located in the middle part of Romania, at the foot of Fagaras Mountains, in Transylvania. The city is situated around 200 kilometres from Bucharest. Nicolae Ceaușescu planned to destroy the city during his dictatorship, in the year 1989. His decision was explained by him by the fact that the city was founded by Saxon colonists and as a creation of German culture, it shall be destroyed. Luckily, Ceaușescu’s plans were never brought to life.
Today Sybin is one of the biggest cultural centre of the country. The whole city’s landscape can be admired from the top of Town Hall’s Tower – it is definitely worth it, as the city’s architecture looks splendid with mountains in the background. The upper town is connected to the lower by street with stairs, along which there are plenty of cafes. It is one of the most loveliest places in the city.
