Vitória is the city of modern architecture, marvellous beaches and numerous bars, restaurants. Monuments are located on an island, which you can reach via one of many bridges. What is worth seeing there? Surely the cathedral from the 16th century, Catedral Metropolitana and the oldest sacral building in the city, Capela de Santia Luzia, that is situated in close distance. Interesting are also, dated back to the 16th century, buildings of Franciscan convent Convento da Penha located on a hill just by the Third Bridge (Terceira Ponte) in Vila Velha. You can admire from there the most beautiful panorama of the city. A must see is also Anchieta Palace, a baroque premises of Jesuits, now serving as local government headquarters, in which every day free trips with a guide are available.
