Even though it seem that the short history of the town hasn’t got a lot to offer, it is worth to visit Museu Historico de Sinop by Avenida das Embaubas to find out that it is differently.
Near Avenida Julio Campos there is a square Plinio Callegaro, popular among those who want to drink an afternoon coffee in peace and pleasant vibe.
If you travel with a kid, make yourself a day of laziness, after which our child will fall asleep in 5 minutes. In Curupy Acqua Park there are plenty of slides and pools, in which one can go crazy.
A town located in the very heart of Brazil. It was founded in 1974 by the company Sinop Terras and built in express pace. First citizens were people coming from the region of Parna, but quickly came there settlers from the whole Brazil looking for better life.
Sinop isn’t a city of monuments, but an interesting stadium of industrial development. Very buoyantly operates there breeding industry and agriculture – from Sinop comes cotton, soya, rice or corn. The development of the city would not be possible without building a network of roads. At first, the road from the closest city took seven days. Still railway is not working there, there is no water transportation. The only alternative to travelling by car or bus is a flight to an airport located 13 km from the city.
As for the young city, the most important temple, Catedral Sagrado Coração de Jesus was built in completely different architectural style than most churches. It is worth to go for a walk and see for own eyes the premises of local diocese.
Lack of monuments doesn’t mean that in the town you will complain for boredom. Otherwise. The citizens of Sinop eagerly rest by the river Teles Pires, that is a tributary to the Tapajos, that flows to the Amazon. Teles Pires has several lovely beaches, and the most popular of them is Cut Beach.
If you get bored by lying on the beach, take a look around. You will certainly see spots where you can rent equipment and get to know where it is best to do each type of sport. To choose form you have fishing, canoeing or even rafting for those dreaming of a dose of adrenaline.
After the day full of adventures, look for peace at a park Rua das Orqideas, in the city’s centre. You will meet there wildly living animals – parrots, sea turtles, various monkeys, crocodiles. Don’t be surprised if a monkey waiting for food joins you on a bench. Animals are sued to the presence of people.
