Accra
Accra is the capital and largest city of Ghana, situated on the Gulf of Guinea. It is the country's main economic, academic and cultural centre, with food, timber and furniture industries. The city, home to 5.4 million people, forms the Greater Accra metropolitan area together with Tema. It has an international airport and a university. The 17th-century forts are worth seeing, among them Christiansborg, the former presidential residence. The best time to visit is the dry season, from November to March.
