Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is the second-largest city in Thailand, located in the northern part of the country along the Ping River. Home to about 1.2 million people, it is renowned for its rich history dating back to the 13th century when it was founded by King Mangrai as the capital of the Lanna Kingdom. The old city attracts tourists with its numerous historic temples, such as Wat Phra Singh. The tropical climate makes the best time to visit Chiang Mai from November to February, when temperatures are milder.
