Beijing
Beijing, the capital of China, is one of the four municipalities directly governed by the central government. Located in the northeast, it borders Hebei Province and the city of Tianjin. Home to about 21.8 million people, it is the country's second most populous city after Shanghai. Beijing is the political, educational, and cultural center of China, with numerous institutions and embassies. The continental climate brings cold winters and hot summers. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit.
