Raleigh is the capital of North Carolina, located in the eastern United States. Together with Cary, it forms a metropolitan area home to 1.5 million people. Known as the "City of Oaks" due to the trees lining its downtown, it boasts industries such as electronics, textiles, food, and chemicals. Raleigh has about 474,700 residents, predominantly White and African American. The climate is temperate, with mild winters and warm summers.
