Bahamas
The Bahamas is an island nation in the Atlantic Ocean, in the Bahamas archipelago, part of the West Indies. It covers 13,880 km², and its highest point is Mount Alvernia (63 m above sea level). Of around 700 islands, only 26 are inhabited. The capital is Nassau. Around 382.6 thousand people live here. The climate is tropical: the average summer temperature is 27 °C and the winter average 21 °C. The best time to visit is from December to April, avoiding the hurricane season. The salt marshes and mangroves along the coast are well worth seeing.
