Luggage
You could take hand baggage onboard Air Berlin planes. The dimensions and weight were determined by the airline and would vary depending on the booking class or route.

Booking classes
With airberlin you could travel with the economy class with the following choices: JustyFly, FlyDeal, FlyClassic, FlyFlex. In business classes the choices were: FlyDeal Business, FlyClassic Business, FlyFlex Business.
The economy class on short- and medium-range routes offered passengers leather, ergonomic seats. Up to 4 hours before departure you could book an XL chair, which provided 10 cm more legroom.
On long-distance routes in economy class, each seat was equipped with a monitor and its own USB port. You could freely choose among cinema hits, series, games, music and audiobooks. Armchairs in the area of the lumbar spine were additionally upholstered, the backrest unfolded by 15 cm. In addition, the airline offered each passenger on selected night cruises a toothbrush and toothpaste, sleeping glasses and socks. The youngest passengers received a colouring book and crayons, puzzles, a comic book and an airberlin cap.
Business class was a more comfortable way to travel. The chair could be folded flat to form a bed. At many German and international airports, comfortable lounges awaited passengers, and on flights to / from or through Abu Dhabi, travellers could enjoy free luxury chauffeur transport. The advantage of traveling in a business class was the ability to drop two pieces of luggage up to 32 kg each, which were marked as Priority Label, which gave them priority of delivery. Passengers in this class could also take a second piece of hand luggage weighing up to 8 kg on board for free.
Online check-in
Airberlin offered a free smartphone application, which not only allowed you to check-in, but also to book flights and read information about flights. The boarding card could be printed out at the earliest 30 hours and no later than 2 hours before the planned departure of the aircraft.
Fleet
The carrier boasted one of the youngest fleets in Europe. Airberlin had aircrafts of various types: Airbus 330-200, 321-200, 320-200, 319-100, Boeing 737-800, 737-700 and Q400. The largest, Airbus 330-200 all Eco, had 340 seats. It has a range of up to 12,300 km, and can fly at an altitude of up to 12,500 m. It reaches a speed of 890 km / h.

The base of low-fare airline Airberlin was located at the Tegel Berlin-Tegel International Airport, one of the three at the disposal of the German capital. It is located 8 km from the city centre, in former West Berlin. The terminal building houses car rental companies, duty free shops, a supermarket, bars, restaurants and cafes. There is wireless internet access at the airport with paid access.
Refreshments
In economy class on short- and medium-range routes within Germany and on short sections up to 90 minutes the airline Airberlin offered free snacks, on flights over 90 minutes free sandwiches or baguettes and crisp bread and chocolate bars on routes over 4 hours. On medium-range flights lasting at least 2 hours, the carrier served free special meals: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or lactose-free, but it needed to be booked up to 48 hours before the planned flight. Free drinks were also offered including: coffee, tea, fruit juice. On long-distance routes, the airline offered free meals and drinks: coffee, tea, fruit juices, beer, wine and more. Up to 48 h before the flight, you could book a free special menu, ie vegetarian, gluten-free, diabetic, kosher and children's meals. In the business class, airberlin also served a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, snacks and fresh fruits between main meals.
Additional services
On mid-range routes in the on-board store you could buy snacks and drinks, brand perfumes, jewelry, toys for children and accessories. Magazines and newspapers were available on journeys in Germany. Passengers with reduced mobility could benefit from special assistance, but it had to be notified no later than 48 hours before the departure.
