The Polish airline PLL LOT is one of the oldest carrier in the world and the main flights operator in Poland, that has been active in the air business since 1929. First international flight was undertaken on 1st April 1030 on the route Warsaw-Bucharest.
Soon, sales for tickets started on routes connecting the Polish capital with Athens, Beirut and Helsinki. Since 1931 the logo of PLL LOT is a crane.
In the airline LOT onboard you can take hand luggage. Its sizes and weight are described by the airline and can vary depending on booking class or route. The registered luggage in LOT has to have specified seizes and weight. They also depend on booking class and route.
Depending on length of route, LOT operates with two booking classes. Each class differs by access to services during planning a trip or the flight itself.
LOT Economy Simple is an offer for people, who while travelling focus mainly on cheap prices. It includes in the ticket price, among others, snack and drink and possibility to choose check-in method. Additionally paid are refreshments, registered luggage and allocation of seat.
LOT Economy Class is an offer widened by registered luggage included in the price and possibility of having the discount for children.
LOT Economy Plus is for more demanding clients and offers dedicated call centre line, priority check-in, boarding and luggage, press, seat in front of the plane, as well as paid access to business lounge.
LOT Business Class is the most comfortable way of travelling on short-distance routes. In price of the ticket there are all conveniences available in lower classes and additionally special check-in and separate security check, that allow passengers quickly get through airport procedure.
LOT Economy Class in case of long-distance flights allows passengers for economic flying. In price of the ticket passengers have at hand blanket and pillow, as well as system of entertainment onboard, refreshments and drinks, and dedicated call centre line, registered luggage, online check-in and at the airport.
LOT Premium Class means priority check-in, boarding and luggage, access to press and possibility of choosing a place. Additionally charged is access to business lounge.
LOT Business Class is the most comfortable way of travelling on long-distance routes. In price of the ticket there are all conveniences, including access to business lounge. Passengers can go through special check-in and separate security check, that allow them to quickly get through airport procedure.
Online check-in is possible 24 hours before the flight and is closed 120 minutes before the departure. In the last step of check-in you can print a boarding pass or order a message with link to a page, where a virtual boarding pass is stored.
Check-in via phone is possible in the same time frame, but a boarding pass needs to be collected the latest 30 minutes before the departure, at the airport. Traditional check-in at the airport is closed, depending on a route, from 30 minutes to an hour before the departure.
You can also choose a comfortable, self check-in in machines located at the airport. All you need to do is go to a post of self check-in, type your name, last name or booking code, and machine will print your boarding pass.
A fleet of Polish airline LOT is composed of 36 planes. For internal flights of average distance are used machines types: Embraer 170, Embraer 175, Embraer 195, Boeing 737-400 or Boeing 737-800. Long distance flights are served by modern planes Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
The main base of LOT is the airport of Fryderyk Chopin in Warsaw. On the airport there are situated business lounges of the Polish carrier: LOT Business Lounges “Polonez” and LOT Elite Lounge.
In the lounge for passenger awaits conveniences, such as bathroom with shower, warm lunch and snacks, drinks (also alcoholic ones), press, computers, TV, free WiFi access. The possibility to enter lounges depends on a booking class.
Offered by LOT refreshments onboard differ depending on route and booking class. On routes lasting to 6 hours, meals are offered to passengers travelling with Business and Economy Plus classes. Others get small snack, and can use offer of LOT Gourment, that has, among others, sandwiches, drinks and sweet snacks.
On longer routes meal is included in the price ticket for those travelling with classes Business and Premium, whereas those travelling with Economy can buy during booking of the flight (or at latest 12 hours before the departure) the service My Menu Premium. On longer routes operates also Sky Bar.
Onboard you can order special dishes – without gluten, vegetarian, with lower content of lactose, for diabetics etc.
Travel with kid up to 12 years requires earlier booking of a special assistant – an employee of LOT, that would accompany a young passenger from the check-in until the moment he is picked up on the destination airport by an adult, authorized person.
To carry sport equipment or musical instrument, whose sizes are bigger than standard luggage sizes, dedicated is the service My Additional Luggage. You can order it at the latest 24 hours before the departure.
Animals are carried in passenger’s cabin or in luggage hatch, depending on its weight and sizes. Carrying animal is supposed to be declared at the latest 48 hours before the departure.
