Pegasus

Pegasus is a private Turkish carrier. It was created in 1990 as the charter airline of Irish Aer Lingus airlines and two other companies. Four years later, two associates sold their shares to the local bank, transforming Pegasus into a purely Turkish company. After few positive years, in 2005, the carrier changed itself into a low-cost airline. After only two years, Pegasus carried more Turkish passengers than any other airline. In 2013 the number of carried passengers grew to 16.9 million. The main headquarters of the airline is Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Istanbul Atatürk airports. Pegasus offer 97 flight directions.

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen airport

The airport is one of the international airports in Istanbul. It was named in honour of Sabiha Gökçen, the first Turkish female pilot.

The airport is located 35 kilometres south-east of the city centre. It was built to balance the growing number of passengers nearby the Atatürk airport. It has two terminals – for domestic and international flights. Annually it is visited by about 25 million passengers.
In 2010 in London, Sabiha Gökçen airport won world congress of low-cost airlines as the Best Airport in the World.
