Cape Verde
The Cape Verde Islands, located in the central Atlantic Ocean about 620 km off the coast of Africa, form an archipelago made up of 10 main islands. These are divided into the Windward Islands, such as Sal and Boa Vista, and the Leeward Islands, including Santiago and Fogo. Home to around 401,000 people, the archipelago features a mountainous landscape crowned by Pico do Fogo, which rises to 2,829 metres.
