  • When to visit Sevilla?

Sevilla is considered as one of the hottest cities of Spain. In summer temperatures reach there even 40 Celsius degrees in shadow! For sightseeing it is best to choose spring or autumn.

  • The artistic Triana

The district Triana is known for vending spots of delightful, hand-made ceramics. Famous are also lasting till late night parties in nearby tapas bars. We recommend to check them out.

  • Meetings under a mushroom

In 2011 the most futuristic building of Sevilla, Metropol Parasol, was erected. It is a favourite meeting spot for locals, that call it a mushroom.

What’s worth seeing in Sevilla?

The capital of Andalusia, Sevilla is fascinating not only with beautiful architecture, but also richness of tapas bars and great restaurants. You can see there every attraction, considered as typically
Spanish one, including corrida and flamenco, and witness great weather the whole year round. It is worth to book couple of days to feel quintessential for the south vibe of siesta and mañana.

That situated in the south of Spain city has ancient roots. Centuries ago it was managed by, among others, Romans, and then for long time, until 1248, by Arabs. Evidence of Muslim occupation are, among others, numerous monuments with characteristic, stunning decorations. Among them we have to name the symbol of Sevilla, a tower Giralda, an old minaret from the 9th century (you can admire from there the city’s panorama), as well as Patio de los Naranjos with breath taking, intricately made mosaics and gates. In a spot of an old mosque, in the 15th century a cathedral was erected, of which its architect supposedly said that “it will be so big, that those who saw it, would consider us madmen.”

Other worth seeing monuments are, for instance, Reales Alcazares, a complex of royal palaces with very neat gardens, or decorated in colourful tiles azulejos, huge, half-sphere pavilion buildings at Plaza de España, in front of which a channel with four bridges was created. What is interesting, you can take a cruise in a boat on the channel for 5 euros. Must see in the city is Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla, an arena of bull fights, that is the oldest building of this type in the world.

What is worth to eat there? Surely typical Andalusian dishes: gazpacho (cold soup made of tomatoes), chicharrones de cadiz, fried pieces of pork with bread, tortilla de patatas (potato omelette), calmar a la planca (fried pieces of squids), croquetas de jamon (fried croquets with ham), as well as snacks from tapas bars, like olives, hams or fried seafood. The best bars of that kind are Alfalfa, Casa de la Viuda or Bodeguita Romero. During heat it is best to go to air-conditioned hall Mercado Lonja del Barranco, where you can find many stalls with food and restaurants.
