Natal – a capital and the biggest city of Brazilian state Rio Grande do Norte, is located in the northern-eastern part of the country. One of the most important streets is Via Costeira (Senador Dinarte Mariz Avenue). It goes along the shore, and has the most luxurious hotels situated by it.

Natal is the closest to Europe and Africa state capital of Brazil. The closest airport is situated in São Gonçalo do Amarante, Aeroporto Internacional Governador Aluízio Alves. It is in distance of 25 kilometres from the centre of Natal. To the city you can get from there by taxi or bus. The airport is handling many internal flights and a few international connections. A bus station is located three kilometres from the city’s centre, it offers every day a few connections with bigger cities in other parts of the country.
Among restaurants recommended by tourists you will mainly find the ones specializing in seafood. One of the most popular is Camaroes Potiguar (located at Rua Pedro Fonseca Filho 8887), that is branch of a chain of restaurants. While ordering something, remember that served portions are very big! A very interesting option, that Brazilian cities have, and also does Natal, is rodízio, which means simply “eat as much as you can”. It can apply to meat, seafood, pastas or pizza. The best way is to use this option in places called churrascarii, where different types of meat are served.
