Windhoek
Windhoek is the capital of Namibia, set in the central part of the country at an altitude of 1655 m above sea level. It is Namibia's largest city, with a population of 486.2 thousand. The city serves as the political, cultural and economic centre of the country. The climate is dry, with mild winters and hot summers. The best time to visit Windhoek is during the winter months, when the temperature is more comfortable. The Christuskirche and the Alte Feste, which reflect the rich history of the place, are worth seeing.
