The airport Amsterdam Schiphol is the largest airport in the Netherlands and the fourth largest in Europe – after London Heathrow (LHR), Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Frankfurt (FRA). It is also one of the main cargo ports in Europe. The port is located about 15 km southwest of the centre of Amsterdam. The A4 motorway is nearby, connecting Amsterdam with The Hague and Rotterdam. The airport is also well connected with the whole country via a railway line and bus connections. The port consists of one terminal divided into arrivals hall and departure hall. Over one hundred airlines provides a network of domestic and foreign connections. During the year, the airport handles approximately 58.2 million passengers.
The terminal has the Mercure Schiphol hotel, and seven others are in close proximity to the port. Free buses run to them from the airport.

You can also choose a free shuttle bus that leaves every half an hour. This bus connects the larger hotels in the centre with the airport.
Train
Regular trains run from Schiphol Airport – both on domestic and international routes. The railway station is located in the basement of the airport – the entrance to the platforms is located in the main hall, near the Schiphol Plaza shopping centre and in the shopping centre itself. Tickets can be purchased both in vending machines available in the main hall and in ticket offices, which are located directly at the entrance to the platforms. From the airport you can directly get to the centre of Amsterdam, and to virtually all cities in the Netherlands. Directly from the airport you can also take a train to cities in Germany (including to Aachen, Bonn, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Essen, Frankfurt or Munich), as well as Belgium (including Antwerp, Brussels and Gent).
By taxi we get to the entrance to Schiphol Plaza, there is also a taxi rank. The journey from Amsterdam takes about 15 minutes.

The airport is located on the A4 motorway, connecting Amsterdam, Hague and Rotterdam. The access to the airport is described by signposts.

52°18'30"N, 4°45'48"EAt the airport there are two car parks (P1 and P2) for short-term stops (up to 48 hours). The car parks are connected with the terminal and the Schiphol Plaza covered passage. Parking for people leaving the car for above 48 hours is in distance of 4 km from the terminal. Access from the parking to the airport is possible by shuttle bus service.
Information – the information desk is located in the arrivals terminal.
Disabled – the airport is adapted to the needs of disabled people and, if necessary, offers assistance of the crew.
Gastronomy – at the airport you can find numerous bars, restaurants and cafes. They are located both in the main hall and in the passenger area. In addition, in many points at the airport there are vending machines with drinks and sweets and snacks.
Shopping – there are shops in the port where you can buy different types of goods. Travelers can purchase souvenirs, clothes, cosmetics, travel equipment, etc. both in the public area and in the passenger area. Finance – there are several exchange offices and ATMs at the airport.
Car rental – several companies provide services in this area at the airport: Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt.
Internet – there is wireless Internet access throughout the airport. There are also special points equipped with computers in which everyone has access to the network.
