Lyon-Saint-Exupery International Airport is a modern airport in France. You can find it about 20 kilometers east of the city center. It is located in the town of Colombier-Saugnieu, in the heart of a high-mountain picturesque region of Rhône-Alpes, attracting annually 8 million tourists from around the world. It dates back to the year 1975 when it was known as a Lyon Satolas. In the year 2000, marking the 100th birthday of Antoine de Saint Exupery, the airport, and the railway station were named after this sky pioneer and a writer. Lyon airport has three terminals. Terminal T3 has only basic facilities and is dedicated to low-cost airlines. The airport operates more than 50 national and international airlines, generating passenger traffic of over 8,7 million passengers. There are hotels located in the airport area.

By bus
Bus lines connect Lyon airport with the Lyon city centre and the region of Rhône-Alpes. The carrier serves also towns located in the Alps and ski resort, including Aix-les-Bains, Amberieu-en-Bugey, Annency, Bourg-en-Bresse, Bourgoin Jallieu, Chambery, Eurexpo, Grenoble, Lyon centre, Saint Etienne, Valence.
By bus/coach
Ben-Bus offers transport to the French ski resorts located nearby, including Tignes, Val d'Isere, Val Thorens.
By train
LYS Lyon Airport has a TGV railway station. By train you can reach many French cities, including Aix-les-Bains (1h 20min), Aix-en-Provence (1h 10min), Annecy (1h 50min), Antibes (3h 50min), Arles (2h), Avignon (1h 40min), Cannes (3h 30min), Chambery (1h), Grenoble (1h), Marseille Saint Charles (1h 30min), Milan (5h), Miramas (2h 15min), Nice (4h), Paris (2h).
By tram
You can reach the airport by the Rhonexpress – express tram, going from the Lyon city centre to the airport. The journey takes 30 minutes.
Taxi stands are located in front of the airport. This mean of transport may not be the cheapest.
The airport is located east of the Lyon city center, between two highways – A43 (direction: Chambery) and A42 (direction: Geneve). The highway A432 leads directly to the airport and is connected with two mentioned above. The way is easy and well-signposted.

Luggage – you can rent a baggage trolley for 1EUR, you can also put clingfilm over your luggage.
Health – the medical point is located on the ground floor of the main terminal.
Internet – Wireless Internet access is available at the airport, in all of the terminals.
