Jordan
Jordan, in the Middle East, is a country with a rich history and varied geography. The capital is Amman. It borders Israel, Palestine, Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, and its coastline on the Red Sea measures just 26 km. The country is defined by highlands and deserts, with Jabal Umm ad Dami as its highest point at 1,854 m above sea level. The climate is mainly dry, except in the far north-west. The best time to visit is spring and autumn, when temperatures are milder.
