Serbia
Serbia is a country in Southern Europe, on the Balkan Peninsula. The capital is Belgrade and the currency is the Serbian dinar. Its history as a state reaches back to the Middle Ages, while the modern republic was established in 2006. Serbia borders Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, among others. The country has been a candidate for European Union membership since 2012. Serbia has a continental climate with hot summers and freezing winters. The best time to visit is spring and autumn, when temperatures are milder.
