Belgium
Belgium, in Western Europe, borders France, Luxembourg, Germany and the Netherlands. It has 64 km of North Sea coastline. It is a member of the EU, NATO and the UN. The country is divided into language areas: French, Dutch and German. The capital, Brussels, is its political and cultural centre. Other important cities include Antwerp and Ghent. The temperate maritime climate brings mild winters and cool summers. The best time to visit is spring and summer, when the weather is good for sightseeing.
