    Malta
Malta is an island city-state in the Mediterranean Sea, located 81 km south of Italy. It consists of the Maltese Islands archipelago, with Malta as the largest island. The capital, Valletta, is celebrated for its 320 historic monuments and its UNESCO World Heritage status. Malta’s history stretches back 7,000 years, and its megalithic temples are even older than the Egyptian pyramids. Maltese and English are the official languages. Thanks to its Mediterranean climate, Malta enjoys mild winters (10–15 °C) and hot summers (25–35 °C). Spring and autumn are the ideal seasons to visit, offering pleasant temperatures for exploring the islands.
