Dubai, the largest city in the United Arab Emirates, lies on the southern shore of the Persian Gulf. In 2023 it had around 3.55 million inhabitants, most of them foreign nationals from Asia. It is a key tourism and financial centre, visited by millions of travellers every year. You will find impressive skyscrapers, luxury hotels and vast shopping malls here. The climate is hot and dry, so the best time to visit is the winter months, when temperatures are more moderate.
