The international airport of Frankfurt is the largest airport in Germany and one of the most important hub airports in Europe. It has been functioning since 1936. Currently, it is served by over one hundred airlines and over fifty charter carriers. The airport is a base, among others for the German airline Lufthansa. In Europe, the Frankfurt port ranks third, after London Heathrow and Paris de Charles de Gaulle, in terms of passengers served. In the international ranking he is classified on the eleventh place.
In 2015, the airport served over 61 million passengers.

Big Airport
Fairly big airport but with good indication to go around. My only complaint is that we had to go out of the plane on the ground to take a bus to get to the terminal!

Frankfurt Airport is connected to the city and the region by many bus lines. Example connections from the airport:

Lufthansa buses also run from the airport to Mannheim, Strasbourg and Heidelberg. To get to one of the hotels in Frankfurt, we can use the free transport.
Train
Frankfurt Airport has two train stations. The train station offering regional S-Bahn trains, regional trains and short-distance trains is in Terminal 1, level 1. Train departures and arrivals take place from platforms 1 to 3. The long-distance train station is located in the AIRail Terminal in the immediate vicinity Terminal 1. Departures and arrivals of trains take place from platforms 4 to 7.
The airport can be reached by taxi. The approximate travel time on the route from the airport to the centre of Frankfurt is about 30 minutes. Prices start at 20 EUR per course.
Frankfurt Airport is located approximately 12 kilometres southwest of the city centre of Frankfurt am Main.

Near the airport in Frankfurt, two A3 and A5 motorways cross. Going to the airport from cities: Kassel, Hannover, Hamburg, we take the A5 motorway, we will reach it directly Frankfurt. In Frankfurt itself, the airport is directed by the "Flughafen" (Airport) signposts.
You can get to the airport:
From the south (for e.g. Basel, Karlsruhe, Darmstadt) - follow the A67 motorway, then Frankfurt and Frankfurter Kreuz A5, then follow the signs 'Flughafen' (Airport) straight to the airport.
From Munich and Würzburg - by taking the A3 motorway. You reach it directly to Frankfurt and then follow the signs to the airport itself.
From Cologne, take the A3 motorway to Frankfurt and then follow the signs for the airport.

50°2'56"N, 8°34'23"ECar parks are located very close to Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The fees may be paid at designated points or in parking meters, using credit cards. Charges for parking at the terminals start from 1.5 EUR for half an hour of parking. There are also large car parks located in the close neighbourhood of the airport. Some, however, only offer long-term stops, starting from 7 days. There are 250 parking spaces reserved exclusively for women in the P1, P5 and P8 car park. Their location close to the terminal ensures their safety. The place can be booked online.
Information – there are one hundred information points located at the airport, so-called infokiosks.
Disabled – the airport is adapted for disabled people (lifts, ramps, special toilets, trained airport service).
Gastronomy – most restaurants, cafeterias, cafes and bars are located in Terminal 1. At the airport there are many fast food restaurants and renowned restaurants.
Shopping – multi-branch stores, renowned brands, duty-free and press kiosks are open at the airport 7 days a week, most of them open from 07:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Finance – banks are available to passengers, money exchange offices, financial intermediaries, German post offices, courier companies and ATMs.
Car rental – services in this field are provided by several companies. Their establishments are located near the exit from the arrival terminals.
Chapel – open 24 hours a day, four prayer rooms for Christians, followers of the Jewish religion and Islam
Luggage – the airport provides access to luggage trolleys, also has special automated points of baggage dropping and marking, allowing you to check your luggage.
Internet – you can use free Wi-Fi 24 hours a day. The service is available mainly in the departures zones, in over 300 Wi-Fi access points, through HotSpot on the Deutsche Telekom portal.
Other – at the airport there is a hotel for dogs, a pram rental, modern silence zones.
