Johannesburg International Airport, also known as OR Tambo International Airport, consists of six air terminals serviced by around 60 different airlines. It is considered to be the largest airport on the African continent in terms of checked passengers. It is located 22 km north-east of Johannesburg city centre. There are hotels on the site of the airport as well as in its vicinity.

Bus
The main bus station is located at terminal B. It is open 24 hours a day and provides transportation to, among others, Johannesburg city centre as well as its nearby districts: Fordsburg, Melville, Newtown, Parktown, Soweto and Yeoville. Within the airport also run free buses thanks to which we can get to exit gates, parkings, the check-in terminal or retail sales and service area.
Train
The rail terminal is currently under construction. It is to be opened in 2010.
Taxi rank is located at check-in terminals. It usually takes about 30-40 minutes to get to the city centre from the airport. Prices of transfers to the city centre range between 200 and 400 ZAR.

26°08'05"S, 28°13'53"ER24 route leads directly to Johannesburg city centre. From the airport you have to go to the western exit which connects directly to the above-mentioned road. If we want to go to Pretoria, leaving the exit we should take route no. R21 which connects the airport to the capital of the country located northwest.
Parking zones are located in various parts of the airport. A stay up to 15 minutes in the zone located next to the terminals is free of charge. In other parts of the airport fees start from 8 ZAR for 15 minutes of stay. If we intend to leave the car in the parking zone for the duration of a trip, the fee will be around 20 ZAR per day.
Gastronomy - at the airport there are a number of dining facilities (restaurants, bars, cafés).
Shopping – at the airport a wide range of shops with various assortment, also duty-free ones (more than 40) can be found.
Financial services – branches of banks, cash machines, money transfer kiosks are available at the airport.
Other amenities – at the airport there are: a medical clinic, conference centres, VIP lounges, a Christian Chapel
