    Thessaloniki International Airport - Makedonia is the second largest airport in Greece in terms of the number of flights operated, and the third in terms of the number of passengers. It is located about 13 km south of the city center of Thessaloniki.  The airport was opened in 1930 and today it serves the second largest city in the country and other popular cities in the attractive region of Halkidiki Peninsula. It operates almost 40 regular and low-cost airlines. The airport serves over 5.3 million passengers a year. There are three hotels near the airport.

    Bus

    The airport is connected to the centre of Thessaloniki. Bus number 78 runs every 45 minutes, the travel takes about 45 minutes, a one-way ticket costs 0.60 EUR.

    In order to get to the airport, follow the E90 motorway towards the south.
