Lamezia Terme was founded in 1968 as a result of joining three neighboring towns: Nicastro, Sambiase and Sant'Eufemia Lamezia. It can boast of monuments such as the ruins of the Benedictine monastery from the 11th century (Abbazia Benedettina S.Eufemia) or Bastion of the Order of the Knights of Malta (Bastione di Malta) from 1550. Extremely important monument are located on a hill ruins of the castle from the Norman rule. It is worth going there to admire the beautiful panorama of the city.
