The population started to grow rapidly due to construction of the airport, which is now the third largest in Ireland, measured by passengers served. In Shannon, you’re only 20 kilometers from the place known for excellent food. It refers to the Milk Market in Limerick, which lies not far off the town. It’s here that local food producers and farmers sell their goods, such as cheese, fish, and meat, especially ham. The best day to go there is Saturday. Concerning pubs and restaurants, there are a few in Shannon. The small restaurant recommended by travelers is called Rowan Berry. It’s at Ballycasey Crafts Centre and offers Irish cuisine.
