Berlin
Berlin, the capital of Germany, is the largest city in the country and in the European Union by population within its administrative boundaries. Located in eastern Germany between the Barnim and Teltow plateaus, Berlin has 3,878,100 inhabitants. The city is crossed by the Spree and Havel rivers and dotted with lakes such as the Müggelsee. Berlin's rich history goes back to 1237, and after German reunification in 1990 it became the capital once again. Its temperate climate makes spring and summer ideal for a visit, when temperatures are pleasant.
