Philippines
The Philippines is an island nation in South-East Asia, set in the Pacific Ocean. It consists of thousands of islands, the largest being Luzon and Mindanao. The capital is Manila, and the country's population exceeds 100 million. The archipelago is rich in biodiversity but exposed to typhoons and earthquakes. Because of the equatorial climate, the best time to visit is December to February, when temperatures are milder. The official languages are English and Filipino.
