Bologna international airport is the seventh busiest airport in Italy, located in the Emilia-Romagna region, about 6 km north of the centre of Bologna. The airport is named after Noble Prize winner, Italian electrical engineer, Guglielmo Marconi. The network of connections is provided by 47 airlines, regular low-cost carriers. The port handles 6.8 million passengers annually. There are two hotels in the immediate vicinity of the airport.
