Rome-Ciampino International Airport Giovan Battista Pastine is the second largest airport in Rome. The airport is located 15 km southwest of the center of the Italian capital, just off the city’s bypass. The airport serves only low-cost carriers, and the biggest traffic is generated by Ryanair. In addition to Irish low-cost airlines, Ciampino Airport serves WizzAir. The most popular directions they serve: London, Brussels, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Bucharest, Dublin, Eindhoven, Valencia, and Seville. In 2015, the airport has served over 5.8 million passengers.
Rome Ciampino Airport was established in 1916 and in the 1930s it was opened to the civilians. During World War II it served as a military base. Until the 60s it was the main airport of Rome. After the opening of the second airport in the Italian capital - Rome-Fiumicino airport in 1961, Ciampino airport operated only charter flights. After the expansion of the terminals at the beginning of 2007, the airport was used by low-cost airlines for their operations. Hotels are located near the airport.

The easiest way to get downtown to Rome or to the airport is by taking the Terravision or SIT bus, which connects the airport with Rome Termini train station. The connections are synchronized with the flights. One way tickets can be purchased for 4-6 EUR at the Ciampino Airport, which is on the opposite side of the arrivals hall and at the Royal Santina Hotel at the Termini Central Bus Station (Via Marsala 22). The quickest and cheapest way to travel between Rome and Ciampino airport is to take the Cotral or Atral bus and the A-Line metra to the Anagnina bus stop. There is a large bus station in front of the Anagnina station, where a regular bus departs from stand number 1 every 40 minutes to the terminal of Ciampino airport. You have to pay for the ticket for about 1,20 €. The bus stop is located opposite of the arrival hall. The prices are approximate.
Train
By train, you can get to the airport from Roma Termini Station. The train takes about 15 minutes to get to Ciampino Station. The next stage of the journey from Ciampino station is to change to the Atral/Cotral/Schiaffini buses that regularly leave to the airport terminals.
