Denmark
Denmark, the smallest of the Nordic countries, lies in Northern Europe on the Jutland Peninsula and across 406 islands, 79 of which are inhabited. It borders Germany and is linked to Sweden across the Øresund strait. The country is a member of the EU, NATO and the UN. Its capital is Copenhagen, on the island of Zealand. Denmark is characterised by a lowland landscape, and its highest point is the hill of Yding Skovhøj (172.54 m above sea level). The best time to visit is summer, when temperatures reach 15-25 °C.
