The history of that Scandinavian Airline is dated back to 1946. It was created as a consortium of domestic airlines of three countries: Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The main premises of SAS is Stockholm Arlanda airport. The airline belong to the most modern and innovative carriers, it is also the largest carrier of the Nordic countries. As the first in the world it began in the 1960s to fly over the North Pole, thereby shortening the cruise to Japan from 52 to 32 hours. SAS was also a pioneer in introducing of eco-friendly aircraft. The Stockholm Arlanda International Airport is the base for SAS airlines. The port is located 42 km north of the Swedish capital and 28 km southeast of Uppsala.
