TAP Air Portugal
The Airline TAP is the national carrier of Portugal. Founded in March 1945 at the initiative of Humberto Delgado. Originally it was called Transportes Aero Portugueses. The first flight took place in September 1946 from Lisbon to Madrid. Two years later, the airline became a member of IATA, and since 2005 it belongs to the Star Alliance. The Warsaw airport is located in a rich network of line connections. TAP also supports cruises in the code-share form from LOT Polish Airlines. Designer Louis Feraud, who in the 1960s and 1970s dressed the cinema stars – Brigitte Bardot, Ingrid Bergman, Elisabeth Taylor and Grace Kelly – designed the uniforms for the stewardesses of the TAP in 1970. The first woman piloted the machine in 1989.
The carrier has its museum in Lisbon, which was opened on the fortieth anniversary of the line.
