Faroe Islands
The Faroe Islands are a volcanic archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, lying between Great Britain, Iceland and Norway. They form an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark. The main town is Torshavn. More than 52 thousand people live here, and the official languages are Faroese and Danish. The archipelago consists of 18 islands, with Slættaratindur (882 m) as its highest peak. The climate is temperate, with mild winters and cool summers. The best time to visit is summer, when temperatures hover around 12°C. The Enniberg cliffs and Lake Sørvágsvatn are well worth seeing.
