Romania is located in southeastern Europe, sharing borders with Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and Moldova. The country has access to the Black Sea, and its capital is Bucharest. Romania is a member of both the EU and NATO. The landscape is dominated by the Carpathian Mountains, which encircle the Transylvanian Plateau.
