Hand baggage at United Airlines
Most of the passengers of United Airlines can take hand luggage and additionally one personal item, such as a handbag, a small backpack, a laptop bag, a briefcase.
However, these rules don't apply to passengers traveling with the Basic Economy tariff. In this case, the ticket price includes only a personal item with smaller permissible dimensions than hand baggage. Basic Economy passengers, who want to board a plane with hand baggage, must pay an additional fee for checked baggage, according to the tariff on the route and additionally pay a handling fee of USD 25.

Checked baggage at United Airlines is closely related to the route. In the cheapest economy class in the US, passengers have to pay even for one piece of checked baggage. On other routes the first piece of baggage is free, and the second piece of baggage is additionally payable. Passengers of all higher classes have two suitcases included in the ticket price.
